Salary: $22.00 per hour

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking two part-time Reference Librarians at the Utica Campus Library. Shifts available are Monday through Thursday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons. These are academic year positions while classes are in session. The successful candidates should be service-oriented, reliable, and flexible.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide general reference services in person and online;
  • Conduct instructional sessions as part of the library’s information literacy program;
  • Provide computer-related assistance to patrons in library lab areas;
  • Assist with the creation of research guides and online tutorials in support of library instruction and other library services;
  • Oversee library facilities and insures smooth operations at assigned campus location;
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of College Libraries.
Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:
  • American Library Association (ALA)-accredited master’s degree, or anticipated completion by May 2023
  • Must be service-oriented, reliable, and flexible
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Academic library experience, knowledge of emerging technologies, and experience working with underrepresented groups
