Job Summary

The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a prevention education coordinator! This position supports the development and delivery of evidence-based programming to address the individual, relational, and societal causes of sexual, interpersonal, and identity-based harassment, discrimination, and violence.
A key part of this role will be to implement and facilitate primary prevention education, including skill building programs to support the adoption of healthy prosocial behaviors, harm reduction strategies, and anti-oppression practices. This includes skills for applying effective bystander intervention strategies, establishing consent and sexual boundaries, recognizing sexual coercion and abusive behaviors, and recognizing and mitigating bias. This requires tailoring programming for specific populations such as first year students, marginalized and underserved communities, and at-risk groups. This position will provide education about university policies and practices to ensure students, staff, and faculty understand reporting, resolution options, and support resources.
We are looking for someone with experience in prevention education, anti-harassment/violence, and/or anti-oppression education who is skilled and comfortable with training and having conversations with groups around difficult topics.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Facilitate a range of educational workshops tailored to specific campus communities to reduce the incidence of interpersonal, sexual, relational, and identity-based harassment and violence.
  • Support the development and delivery of educational programs and compliance training, including asynchronous online education and live (virtual and in-person) facilitated workshops.
  • Work within the department, with campus partners, and other units to provide educational opportunities for campus communities that are at-risk, underserved, and historically marginalized or stigmatized.
  • Stay current with relevant academic literature to inform and enhance promising practices related to OIEC’s prevention education goals.
  • Administer program evaluations to continuously improve effectiveness and track program and outreach activities.
  • Serve on some related committees.
What You Should Know
  • The position will work a hybrid modality, with some in person trainings required each week and some remote work each week.
  • This is a full time position with varied work hours during the week. Some night and weekend work to meet training needs will be required.
  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement.

What We Can Offer
  • Annual Salary Range is $55,000 - $65,000.

What We Require
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Three years of experience in prevention education or anti-harassment/violence and anti-oppression education.

What We Would Like You To Have
  • Advanced degree in related field, and five years of experience in prevention education or anti-harassment/violence and anti-oppression education. Experience working with young adults or in higher education.
