Purpose of Position
The Coordinator of Creative Media is responsible for the creation of digital media, marketing, and creative service needs for Northern Kentucky University Athletics. Emphasis will be placed on the production of creative videos and creative content that will increase awareness, attendance, and revenue for NKU Athletics. The position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director – Strategic Communications and is a part of the NKU Athletics strategic communications team.

Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Northern Kentucky University. As a member of the athletics department staff, it is expected that the Coordinator of Creative Media will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to the position.

It is also expected that the Coordinator of Creative Media will comply with all NCAA rules and if he/she becomes aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee. Primary Responsibilities
Regular Duties
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing and creative services plan in collaboration with the athletics marketing, strategic communications, and development staff that will increase awareness, drive attendance and revenue, and promotes the brand of NKU Athletics and NKU, with special emphasis on creative video.
  • Produce creative video content for the athletic department, including but not limited to highlights, hype videos, interviews, profiles, feature/special interest stories, advertisements, etc. Content will be distributed via NKUNorse.com, Northern Kentucky Athletics’ social media channels, and traditional media outlets.
  • Produce fan engagement videos, as well as animated and graphic video content for in-venue video boards. Occasionally shoot photos.
  • Archive and log video content.
  • Design branded elements for use in digital mediums, including work featured on ESPN+.
  • Assist in developing and executing the digital and social media strategy for the athletics department and sports programs.
  • Assist in the coordination of special events (i.e. fundraising events, Hall of Fame) by providing and/or arranging video support, including, but not limited to, video content for each program/event, interviews, highlights/recaps, etc.
  • Coordinate regularly with the coaching staff to support their creative video needs.
  • Shoot photo content, both in-game and at practice to help support the NKU Athletics strategic communications staff.
  • Coordinate the internship program that will provide NKU students with an experiential learning opportunity. The position will be responsible for recruiting and managing their area of specialized video and photo workers, with oversight from the Assistant AD.
  • Comply with NKU, Horizon League, and NCAA regulations.


Periodic Duties
  • Travel with selected teams during the regular season and postseason.
  • Serve on committees on campus or with the Horizon League
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in leading all video production (pre-production, recording, post-productions), preferably in an athletics-related field
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere and After Effects
  • Experience with DSLR and video cameras
  • The position requires considerable initiative, creativity, and independence
  • Evidence of strong communication skills


Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Three (3) or more years of experience with leading all video production (pre-production, recording, post-productions), preferably in an athletics-related field
