Essential Functions
  • Coordinates data for accreditation and program reports (Federal Title II).
  • Maintains the ISBE Annual Report database on ACCESS .
  • Supports the awards committee. Updates materials, posts notice of and receives completed applications for the annual Feldman Awards, Olga Najacht, Weigand, and Whitener Scholarships, then notifies winners and non-winners through customized letters, and sends names and amounts granted to Financial Services for their records and for the honors ceremony booklet.
  • Supports special department events (e.g., alumni events, advisory council meetings, reception for award winners following the Honors Convocation). Coordinates all communications and RSVPs through teacherleadership@elmhurst.edu.
  • Assists Field Director with department-wide school partner, alumni, and employer surveys (through Qualtrics) by organizing survey data once submitted by teachers, providing lists of mentors, cooperating teachers and supervisors for all practicum and student teaching placements as well as data needed for each type of survey.
  • Assists Field Director by creating, sending, and organizing upon receipt the school district field placement contracts.
  • Assists Field Director and program directors with student teaching and block practicum placements by creating and organizing databases of students, district and cooperating teacher information, and supervisor.
  • Assists Field Director and program directors by sending field placement information letters (both student teaching and block practicum placements) to teacher candidates upon confirmation that a school district will have a teacher candidate placement.
  • Assists with departmental evening course support, including background check appointment scheduling for students, answering telephone and departmental inquires, etc.
  • Supports Department Chairperson, Director of Satellite Field Network, and Licensure Officer with verifications of clinical hour and course requirements for approvals/endorsements.
  • Maintains record keeping related to checkpoints and capstone rubrics for state reports.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ACCESS, and Internet Skills.
  • Proficient in basic statistical analysis with EXCEL (e.g., means, percentages).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
