Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Accounting in the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago invites applications for a faculty appointment in Accounting beginning in the Fall term of 2023. The position is open at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Previous teaching experience, high-quality scholarly research, and engagement in impactful service (commensurate with rank) are a plus.

Expectations include high-quality scholarly research, teaching excellence, engagement in impactful service (commensurate with rank), and a strong understanding of and commitment to the university’s mission. We seek candidates at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the broadly defined areas of Accounting analytics. Candidates should demonstrate a strong research agenda and pipeline. Research streams which advance the University’s mission will be favorably received by the committee.

We seek scholars who can support the current undergraduate and graduate accounting curriculum (Accounting majors and minors, MS Accounting and MBA ). The initial teaching load is four undergraduate or graduate courses per year. Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of an earned doctorate degree in Accounting and an established record of ongoing research activities in the field. Candidates are expected to have earned their degree prior to the effective date of appointment. Qualified applicants should also demonstrate teaching effectiveness and innovative approaches to accounting education. Although not required, industry experience in accounting is preferred. Required qualifications include published research in high level accounting journals, teaching excellence, and a strong commitment to service and the profession. Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA ) is expected.
