Position Summary:
Manages a variety of routine and cyclic administrative and financial functions for the department(s) or unit. May serve as first point of contact for the department while also performing a variety of administrative functions such as researching information for faculty, staff, and students, and providing program and/or event assistance. May coordinate financial tasks for the department/unit.

Duties may include:
  • Coordinating office functions and maintaining office processes, procedures, records, and documents
  • Providing administrative support and coordination for activities of a department or division by prioritizing, directing, and responding to business matters involving university administrative functions
  • Responding to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning unit/University policies, processes, and procedures from internal and external contacts
  • Supporting regular and non-routine meetings, events, and coordinating complex travel arrangements
  • Composing, typing, and distributing meeting notes, routine correspondence, or reports, such as presentations or statistical or monthly reports
  • Maintaining individuals' and office calendars
  • Utilizing University programs to create, review, and submit financial documents including travel claims, purchasing card expense reports, claim vouchers, requisitions, purchase orders, and deposit forms; may provide routine financial reports to unit administrator
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience with administrative or office support functions.
  • Composing, proofing, and editing a variety of business documents, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email, and internet research


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Developing, evaluating and recommending procedures including written training materials and manuals.
  • Using computer software applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet research.
  • Working in high volume office with regular interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Providing support or services to individuals with disabilities in a professional setting.
  • Supervisory experience.
