Job/Department Summary:

Under general direction of the Academic Technology Officer, the incumbent will provide technical and pedagogical support for faculty using campus-standard academic technology including, but not limited to, the Learning Management System (Canvas and/or Blackboard Learn), Zoom, Kaltura, Google and other software such as web browsers, Microsoft, and media applications (graphics, video, etc). The ITC will consult with faculty, providing trouble-shooting, training and instructional design. The ITC will works with faculty in designing, developing, and integrating academic technology wisely into courses using various modes of instruction (in-person, hyflex, ChicoFlex, fully online). The ITC uses the CSU Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) rubric and offers other best practices in the following areas: accessibility, diversity, equity, inclusion, student engagement, and closing equity gaps. The ITC will support equal opportunity practices, providing culturally-competent professional development for faculty to improve student learning outcomes where applicable with technology. The ITC will also develop tutorials, step-by-step guides and videos on how to use academic technology tools in the teaching and learning environment. Responsibilities include collaboration and teamwork with faculty, TLP staff, TLP student assistants, IT's Learning Technologies, Faculty Development and the campus community in general. The ITC will work with faculty face-to-face, by phone and in online environments such as Zoom, to accomplish training, consultation, and support of current and emerging technologies.

Mandatory Vaccinations:

The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
  • Bilingual.
  • Masters Degree or higher.
  • Career experience in higher education, either supporting faculty with technology in the teaching and learning environment, or teaching with technology including fully online courses in higher education.
  • Successfully designed and taught courses in various modes (fully online, hybrid, in-person) and/or has integrated academic technology to successfully engage their students in learning.
Required Education and Experience:

The qualifications listed above would normally be obtained by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems educational technology, communications or job-related field or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
AND
Two years of full-time job-related experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of job-related experience and education providing the requisite skills and knowledge to independently apply technical judgment to standard application systems.

Time Base: Full-time


Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary and Benefits Information:

$3,470 - $6,681 per month / $41,640 - $80,172 annually (New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning of the salary range)

This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
