Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of the Bickerstaff Academic Center (BAC); and the Assistant Director of Academic Support the incumbent assists with providing academic support clerical assistance, clerical support for BAC programs, and general reception duties for the BAC. During the academic semesters (fall and spring) workday hours will be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the Center between the hours of 9am to 9pm Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
  • Front desk receptionist support assistance & maintain academically enriching study environment for CSULB's NCAA student-athlete population.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent word processing and excel skills to prepare manuals and/or other documents. Strong communication and people skills. The ability to multi-task, be flexible and understanding. Always maintain professionalism when working with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to work with a diverse university population and student athletes. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with CSULB staff and students. Ability to work with a high profile at-risk culturally diverse population.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to four (4) years of administrative support experience required. Knowledge of general NCAA rules, student-athlete's issues and academic complexity is preferred.

Compensation
The salary range for this classification is $3,276 to $5,148 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
