This is a temporary assignment that will end at the discretion of the department or when funding or hours are exhausted.
Governors State Universitys Alumni Department is seeking an Alumni Relations Assistant who will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations to develop and expand the Alumni Relations Office including increasing the number of newly engaged alumni, maintain current alumni engagement, assist in planning for future collaborative opportunities to increase alumni participation such as interest and donations; coordinating office structure and responsibilities for other Alumni Relations Office staff. The Alumni Relations Assistant will engage alumni with various communication tools, but not limited to, in-person, phone, email, Slate, social media and networking opportunities. The Alumni Relations Assistant will collaborate with institutional colleagues, including faculty, staff, and current students to cultivate and steward relationships with alumni on behalf of the Alumni Relations Office. The Alumni Relations Assistant will re-affirm the Alumni Relations Office and Alumni Association’s Brand, vision, and prominence.
The hourly rate of pay is $18.00
Work Schedule: M – F, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Hours vary upon events and other special related activities.) Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-1 years experience in alumni engagement, constituent/stakeholder/customer management, relationship building, marketing, communications, and audience engagement/event planning.
- · Bachelor’s degree or related experience, business, communication, psychology, nonprofit management, or related fields.
- · 0-1 years working with students, alumni, and/or donors.
- · 0-1 years working on a university setting.
- · Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
