The Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke seeks an energetic and dynamic assistant professor in political science or public administration. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach in at least one of the following areas: comparative public administration, government contracting, international security, and/ or intelligence studies. The ideal candidate will have a combination of the expertise. Preference will be given to candidates with a willingness to teach writing intensive classes.

UNCP is a regional university that emphasizes excellence in teaching. This position has a 4-4 teaching load, with some release possibilities based upon scholarship productivity. Courses will include a guaranteed rotation of general education courses and upper division courses teaching in your area of specialty. This position may include regular teaching in our Master of Public Administration program, which comes with a course release.
 

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a Ph.D. in political science, public administration, or a related field. Candidates may be ABD with a clear date of completion.
