Job Summary

The VC of Student Affairs at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Basic Needs Center Coordinator! This temporary position will provide support for the Basic Needs Center each day.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Outreach and Social Media
  • Daily: Check email and tag emails for student staff members Update social media with any new events or programs Check in with team via Teams
  • Weekly: Attend FTS team meetings Attend Buff Pantry delivery (Fridays at 8:30am)

Allocate meal swipes from Swipe it Forward Applications Operations
  • Daily: Check email and respond to necessary requests, Check Buff Pantry registrations for duplicates, Check new Buff Pantry memberships, Report students for extra follow-up to resource and referral assistant
  • Weekly: Attend FTS team meetings, Create weight log sheet for the Buff Pantry, Attend Buff Pantry delivery (Fridays at 8:30am), Place Buff Pantry delivery order, Log Buff Pantry visits on Intake Form, Log total weights on Intake form, Keep track of Amazon wish-list.
  • Irregular: Submit Buff Pantry stats to Community Food Share, Place Mobile Pantry delivery orders, Record food drive donations
  • Large-Scale: Data analysis on Buff Pantry visits

Volunteer Management
Events and Education
  • Daily: Check email and respond to necessary requests, Work on educational materials (presentations, flyers, etc.)
  • Weekly: Attend FTS team meetings, Check food drive request form, Attend Buff Pantry delivery (Fridays at 8:30am)
  • Large-Scale: Choose dates for Mobile Food Pantry, Recruit 20 volunteers for each Mobile Food Pantry, Assign tabling stations for Swipe it Forward, Recruit volunteers for Swipe it Forward, Conduct campus food drives
What You Should Know
  • This is a temporary position lasting up to 12 months.
  • This is a fully in-person position.
  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
What We Can Offer
  • The hourly rate is $22.00
Benefits
Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave .

What We Require
  • Bachelors degree
  • One year of experience running a campus food pantry and basic needs programming.
What You Will Need
  • Experience volunteering with a community based organization.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning about food insecurity at CU Boulder, nonprofit organizations, and equity and justice issues as they relate to basic needs.
  • Passion and commitment for social change, social and environmental justice.
  • Great customer service skills and previous experience providing customer service of any kind.
  • Experience utilizing Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, and GivePulse.
  • Strong proactive problem solving skills and experience taking initiative.
  • Amazing communication skills which include communicating in person, on the phone, and over email in a professional manner.
  • Ability to be punctual and timely to events, work shifts, and training.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse group of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community organizations.
