Position Summary:
The Executive Director of Analytics and Institutional Research is a key role at the College and is vital to success of the organization. The Executive Director will provide leadership in developing data strategy to support decision making and will partner with IT and senior leadership in planning and implementing future data architecture to meet WCC’s current and ongoing needs. Institutional needs which include market analysis, the development of analytics/dashboards, the providing campus constituents with data to support strategic research and analysis, operational needs, and assessment of college practices and student success – from recruitment through graduation. The position reports to the Executive Vice President of Student and Academic Services. This position is within the Independent Staff, grade 109 exempt status.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with college leadership, develop and implement an annual reporting and research agenda related to the strategic, operational, enrollment and completion plans of the college.
• Respond to ad hoc issues concerning the College by researching the issue(s) and providing appropriate responses.
• Provide market analysis in support of program planning for degrees, certificates, and ongoing education options that meet the needs of the Washtenaw Community College community.
• Provide data and analysis as needed to support institutional effectiveness activities.
• Oversee the compilation and publishing of a common data set and metrics.
• Works with college leadership and IT to identify and implement a strategy to provide campus personnel with access to key institutional and operational data through dashboards, data warehouse and other data solutions.
• Provide data assistance for grant applications and support for accreditation activities as needed.
• Supervise the personnel of the Analytics and Institutional Effectiveness office including professional development, evaluation, promotion, discipline, and discharge.
• Produce clear and concise written and oral reports.
• Performs work in conformance with established College, state and federal guidelines as well as best practices, policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours/Schedule: Work schedule will typically be day-shift hours (8am-5pm), with some flexibility.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Master’s degree in discipline with research methods and statistical analysis required OR equivalent education and experience.
• At least four (4) years of or more years of work experience in the collection, management, analysis, and presentation of data
• Working knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS or R, student information systems (preferably Banner), as well as Microsoft suite
• Working knowledge of SQL or other programming language
• Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research design and analysis
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate findings and trends to various audiences.
• Evidence of strong time-management, organizational and interpersonal skills required for effective regular contact with diverse internal and external individuals and groups.
