Position Description

The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Senior Research Associate position.  This is a three-year renewable position that will begin on or after January 1, 2023.

 

Working in collaboration with the faculty directors of the TMW Center for Early Learning + Public Health, the Senior Research Associate will conduct original research. The Senior Research Associate is expected to play an active role in obtaining and conducting funded research, developing partnerships with external collaborators, and authoring/co-authoring academic publications. The position entails collaboration on new and ongoing research projects, with the main focus on (but not limited to) using economic models and machine learning techniques to conduct empirical analysis of data from TMW Center’s research projects. As part of this collaboration, the Senior Research Associate will provide scientific guidance to the research analysis team, lead the statistical analyses along with the TMW director of research, and design new studies to advance the research agenda of the TMW Center. This position will provide an opportunity for the Senior Research Associate to be a part of the vibrant research environment of the TMW Center for Early Learning + Public Health and the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics, at least three years postdoctoral research experience is required.   The position requires demonstrated expertise in child development and topics related to parental beliefs and behaviors, as well as experience working in multidisciplinary research environments. Ability to communicate research findings clearly through oral presentations and written work is required.
