The Admission Counselor position is primarily responsible for assisting with the recruitment of undergraduate students for the Flyer Promise Scholars program at the University of Dayton. The Admission Counselor will assist with the planning and implementation of recruitment strategies as well as assist with marketing and communication efforts to engage and attract students from partner high school schools and organizations for participation in the Flyer Promise Scholars program. Reporting to the Executive Director of Recruitment and Admission for Transfer and Strategic Partnership Programs, the Admission Counselor will collaborate with others within Strategic Enrollment Management and across the university to ensure successful recruitment, enrollment, and transition strategies are developed and executed. In addition, the Admission Counselor will contribute to achieving overall recruitment and enrollment goals for the institution, including maintaining additional travel territories and participating in daily activities and events that serve all prospective students and families. Information on the Flyer Promise Scholars program:
The University of Dayton Flyer Promise Scholars program is designed to support underrepresented and underserved students from low socio-economic backgrounds and create access for students who want to be a part of the University of Dayton. The comprehensive program is in its sixth year of existence and will welcome the seventh cohort to the program in fall 2023.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
Ability to travel in the Fall and Spring for 6 to 8 weeks to perform the duties of the position.
Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse constituents.
Ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Office applications is required.
Ability to be highly independent, self-motivated, and team-oriented and to represent the University of Dayton at the highest level.
High attention to detail with demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in both traditional and nontraditional unstructured work environments, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must have a stated interest and desire to develop an understanding and appreciation of the University of Dayton’s Catholic and Marianist charism.
Valid driver's license with low-risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or related fields from regionally accredited university.
At least two years of progressive work experience in recruitment and admission or related fields in higher education.
Prior experience and knowledge working with student and information systems, E.g. Banner, CRM systems, or relevant technologies.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data to assess progress toward goals.
Demonstrated successful experience recruiting underserved and underrepresented students at a top-tier research institution.
Previous supervisory experience.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel.
