This position is a non-exempt administrative support role with the School of Education and Health Sciences, Department of Health and Sport Science and a member of a collaborative support team. This team member would perform various administrative tasks including scheduling meetings for faculty and administrators, managing departmental-related travel arrangements, assisting with student recruitment events, recruitment material development and departmental communication, overseeing the student leaders of the department, and assisting with record keeping. We are seeking a candidate with strong communication, organization and computer word processing skills.

This full-time administrative secretary position is a 9-month position running from August 15th – May 15th each year.

Minimum Qualifications:

-High School Diploma
-Three + years of professional office experience required.
-Mastery of computer software, especially Microsoft Office and Google applications.
-Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills to communicate with persons at all levels of the University and those outside the University.

-Commitment and desire to work within a strong team environment.

-Strong organizational, analytical and proofreading skills.
-Strong customer service orientation and ability to develop positive working relationships with a diverse community of faculty, staff, students, administrators and external constituents.
-Ability to prioritize and use independent judgment and problem solving skills for decision making.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-Associate degree or higher
-At least 3 years' full time experience as administrative support within Higher Education
-Experience with common Higher Education IT systems (e.g. Cognos, Degreeworks, Banner, Isidore)

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
