Job Description:

Clark University, a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) is seeking applications for a Woman's Basketball Assistant Coach. Responsibilities of Assistant Coach will include, but are not limited to, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, on-court instruction for practice and games, scouting opponents and game film preparation, camp organization and direction, along with other assigned duties. Successful candidates must have strong interpersonal communication skills, display an understanding of NCAA Division III rules and carry the ability to maintain professional conduct while acting as a role model for the student-athletes.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Recruit a diverse group of student-athletes to a highly competitive academic institution
  • Keep an organized document of all recruits and interactions
  • On-court instruction for individual workouts, practices and games
  • Opponent and self-scouting though Hudl, Synergy and other platforms
  • Organization and direction of camps and clinics
  • Video breakdown for specific positions
  • Support student wellness- mental and physical strategies
  • Team bonding & team building coordinator
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required/Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required, provided by Clark University following hiring.
  • One or more years coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level; collegiate playing and/or managerial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Extremely detail oriented- great at administrative tasks.
  • Strong organizational, writing, interpersonal, oral communication, and computer skills needed.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, video editing software, Adobe Photoshop and social media preferred.
  • Great communicator.
  • Positive and optimistic.
  • Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game, and ability to coach and motivate.
