Position Description: The Department of History and the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies seek to appoint a tenure-track professor in Twentieth Century U.S. History. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2023. The tenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The committee welcomes applications in a variety of fields, including but not limited to political history, urban history, environmental history, gender history, and the history of political thought.

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate or terminal degree in History or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and advising is desired.

Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received. At least one letter must come from someone who has not served as the candidate's undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral advisor.*
