Title: HVAC Supervisor

Position Summary: The HVAC Supervisor will be responsible for the management of the HVAC physical plant program and associated controls. This includes but is not limited to creating and tracking building mechanical programing guidelines, EPA compliance, providing training and continuing education to new technicians, conducting quality control inspections, and reviewing inspection reports for accuracy and regulatory compliance. The HVAC Supervisor will ensure that the physical plant runs smoothly and efficiently, and the preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance is performed in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. The HVAC Supervisor maintains records and assists in maintaining documentation required by all regulatory and accreditation agencies as well as good engineering practices.

Duties and Responsibilities: Review inspection reports provided by field technicians for accuracy. Conduct campus site visits to conduct quality control inspections. Consult on major repairs identified during HVAC inspections, especially when repairs may affect airflow, or air exchange rates. Serve as an HVAC subject matter expert to for capital projects. Provide guidance in projects and design guidelines that affect HVAC systems and their respective operations. Keep the Senior Director of Plant Operations, Manager of Plant Operations Maintenance, and technicians up to date on relevant code changes and best practices. Train all technicians on proper procedures using building automation systems. Assist maintenance manager with mechanical long term equipment replacement budgets to support senior director of plant operations. Track equipment performance over time, identify aging, failing equipment, and recommend corrective actions. Ensures that material and equipment are ordered and maintained in a timely fashion. Supervise the day-to-day functions of assigned personnel. Orient and train new plant operations personnel to the department, to safe working habits and proper use of equipment. Continuously review new technology, tools and maintenance strategies to improve the overall HVAC team efficiency. Assist the Manager of Plant Operations Maintenance in the efficient and effective use of funds for the Plant Operations Department. Work with the Senior Director of Plant Operations to develop and manage capital and operating budgets. Travel to off campus locations may be required. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Three years of project management experience working on HVAC and mechanical equipment. Three years using AutoLogic Controls/BAS Management. Three years working with large infrastructure programing and mechanical planning to ensure successful operation of the central boilers, chiller plants, plumbing, & HVAC systems. Three years experience working with vendors or contractors to secure bids for projects. Three years working in a facility that requires strong BAS programming and scheduling experience. One year of supervisory experience. EPA Certification. Universal Refrigeration Certification. Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree, Apprenticeship, or Technical Certificate from an accredited mechanical program of study. OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Comprehensive knowledge of Controls systems, applications, and operations. Strong excel skills and the ability to develop reports. Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Must maintain current knowledge of OSHA/TOSHA/EPA and State/local code requirements as well as maintain knowledge of Joint Commission inspection requirements. Ability to utilize MEP drawings and architectural plans to determine appropriate system specifications and design requirements, and to navigate facilities to conduct inspections as part of quality control is expected. Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, long and short distances. Ability to climb multilevel stairwells, walk long distances and/or remain in a standing position for extended periods.

Pay Rate: 40,200.00 - 50,250.00 annual salary depending on experience
