Career Development Events Specialist

Position Overview:
  • Coordinate event logistics for all career fairs, on-campus interviews, and employer events - this includes room reservations, parking, catering, communications, payment processing, etc.
  • ​​​​​​Support Director of Career Development Center to build and implement an employer relations strategy
    • Create new events that connect students with job and internship opportunities​​​​​​
    • Communicate with employers regarding recruiting students and networking events
    • Present employer relations strategy to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support with event marketing and implementation of additional office marketing plans
    • Follow marketing plan established by Assistant Director of Career Development Center for events and daily social media needs including content creation
  • Submit all event marketing for the master calendar, Centralities, and STLR
    • Assist with additional service advertisements as needed
    • Work with University Communications on getting designs prepared
    • Update digital signage as needed
  • Manage the completion of the daily employer, job, student, and event approvals in the customer relationship management database
  • Provide customer service for the office by filling in at the front desk when student employees are not able to
    • Respond to emails and phone calls in absence of student employees
    • Keep the booking system updated with out-of-office dates to prevent scheduling conflicts for interview rooms
  • Perform office administration duties such as meeting minutes, ordering supplies, and processing event payments
  • Track budget and prepare monthly budget reports
  • The general schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in a chosen field that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred :

Knowledge of event management, recruiting, and career development. Experience with web-based career-related management information programs (e.g. Handshake).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals. Display creativity, initiative, and a positive attitude in carrying out responsibilities. Ability to multitask. Exceptional time management skills.
