TRUMAN COLLEGE

Harry S Truman College is seeking a Senior Coordinator - Early College for our Dual Enrollment Program. The Dual Enrollment Program at Truman College allows high-school juniors and seniors to enroll in college courses. This position will provide support at the college level to increase high school students’ participation and success in Dual Credit and Dual Enrollment programs. This will involve coordinating class and student assignments and working with appropriate high schools to ensure that students are accurately informed and placed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assists with the operations and activities of the Early College Program, collaborating with college administrators and staff in preparing enrollment projections, preparing course scheduling, delivering program supports (i.e. orientation, convocation, tutoring), and ensuring the academic integrity of the curriculum and instruction.

· Serves as the liaison between the college and secondary partners by planning and coordinating meetings and establishing program expectations and seeing that these expectations are met.

· Assists with the course scheduling and academic programming of Early College students.

· Assist with project management and strategic planning capabilities, including the ability to establish long-term vision and goals, and the ability to align and manage activities toward execution of identified goals.

· Works collaboratively with the Office of Instruction to identify, oversee, and evaluate faculty coordinators and adjuncts in the Early College Program.

· Projects early college enrollment and forecasts growth opportunities.

· Completes reports related to compliance with state (ICCB) guidelines and fidelity to college standards for all dual credit, dual enrollment, and articulation initiatives with secondary institutions in a timely manner. · Plans professional development for coordinators and adjuncts, mentoring and orientation activities for students enrolled in the Early College Program.

· Converts dual enrollment and dual credit students into full and part time students, through enrollment events. This may include community events with an emphasis on the completion of FAFSA forms.

· Serves as a liaison to College Advisors and secondary school counselors to ensure a clear, articulate, and predictable path to early college credit through dual credit, dual enrollment, and articulation initiatives.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Public Services, Public Policy or related field, Master’s degree preferred, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

· Minimum 2 years of direct experience working with early college programs or equivalent experience and training as determined by management.

· Knowledge of post-secondary academic planning, policies, and services.

· Direct experience managing relationships between college faculty and high school partners. · Demonstrated experience with recruiting, orientation, and in person presentations to high school students and parents.

· Self-starter with the ability to conduct multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of a collaborative team, with the ability to assess current operations in an effort to innovatively improve the future goals of the District.

· Proven organizational skills and supervisory ability.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to build trusting, long-term relationships and networks with stakeholders at all levels including district office, high-school partners, communities, students, etc.

· Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and define valid conclusions and action steps.

· Ability to project for student growth and any additional needs to accommodate that growth.

· Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body and staff.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed.

· Proficient with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.

· Ability to meet deadlines in timely manner.
