During the next year Portland Community College will be transitioning Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center into an Opportunity Center. Opportunity Centers are designed to reverse racial and economic disparities by providing career and education preparation and wrap-around support. Potential students include adults returning to education after job loss, English language learners, student parents, first-generation students, community members from historically oppressed populations including immigrants and refugees, and others facing barriers to higher education. All who want to learn are welcomed, and PCC will meet them where they are. The Metro Lead Receptionist/Reservation Coordinator will be integral to providing a warm, professional and welcoming environment providing both excellent internal and external customer service. The position also requires a wide scope of administrative ability, scheduling rooms, organizational skills and proficiency in data management systems.

Candidate Profile

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and provide effective and responsive service to department customers and contacts
  • Ability to meet schedules and timelines and work independently with minimal direction
  • Perform all assigned tasks efficiently and accurately; create and maintain accurate records
  • Possess and demonstrate the required level of proficiency in desktop computers and other software or electronic resources
  • Learn and utilize Banner and other information systems and databases including room scheduling software; liaise with other College departments/schedulers when and where necessary
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Three years of administrative office support experience (college or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement).

Position Grade 16 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $38,943 to $40,107 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $38943 to $62487 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age. Partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions (full-time employees only).

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
- Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)
- 8 hours of sick leave per month
- 24 hours of additional personal leave days per year - 11 Paid holidays

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is generally performed in an office setting. Exposure to video display terminal occurs regularly. Scheduling deadlines may create work pressure.
Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding. Position requires sitting for long periods in front of video terminal, and periods of standing and walking. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling is required for moving equipment, furniture and other items.
