Responsibilities: Tatar Research Group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with an expected start date of June 1, 2022. The research includes structural testing of reinforced concrete members strengthened with externally bonded FRP composites. The position is for 1 year and includes benefits (http://www.udel.edu/Benefits/index.html) and a competitive salary.

Qualifications: The candidate will have a PhD in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering. The candidate must have: 1) significant experience in structural testing of reinforced concrete members; 2) experience with sensor (LVDT, strain gauge) wiring, digital image correlation, and data acquisition; 3) a solid understanding of reinforced concrete mechanics and be familiar with strengthening of concrete structures with externally bonded fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites; and 4) demonstrated ability to disseminate results via peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Additional desirable skills include experience with mentoring of junior researchers, and grant proposal writing.
