Position Overview & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Director of Graduate Admission, the Graduate Admission Counselor is responsible for recruiting students to the College’s graduate programs by communicating, building rapport, providing excellent customer service to guide, motivate and coach qualified individuals through the enrollment process. By managing an assigned portfolio of graduate programs, this individual will execute a full range of recruiting activity and tactics from prospect to enrolled student in support of enrollment goals. A commitment to building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective students and applicants is important as well as the desire to help candidates make positive changes in their lives and careers.

Responsibilities include:
  • Identify innovative ways to create awareness about programs and execute annual recruitment plans for assigned portfolio of graduate programs to achieve enrollment goals.

  • Proactively and reactively engage with and counsel students throughout the enrollment funnel by advising, providing information and coaching and through various channels such as emails, phone calls, text and other methods of engagement.

  • Coordinate, execute and attend on-and off-campus recruiting and yield events and manage pre-and post-event communications and efforts through (graduate fairs, career fairs, school visits, online/virtual events, info sessions/open houses, etc.).

  • Coordinate with the graduate marketing team to align recruiting and marketing calendars.

  • Develop and manage communication plans accurately and effectively with an aim to portray the unique selling points of each graduate program.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations and materials for various recruiting initiatives.

  • Serve as liaison to graduate schools regarding application review and admission decisions – collaborate with schools on a regular basis to learn about programs.

  • Support Double Warrior internal recruiting goals.

  • Build professional networks and student pipelines through partnerships with colleges universities and potential recruiting partners.

  • Monitor application files to ensure they are complete and ready for review.

  • Based on admission decisions, execute and manage smooth yield processes through yield communications, events and tactics.

  • Share responsibility for managing graduate email boxes, answering main admission phone lines and field walk-ins. Maintain 24-48 hour response time.

  • Track and report daily, weekly and monthly recruitment and enrollment progress.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience in higher education and or recruiting and sales for higher education clients.

  • Proficiency with a CRM, preferably Slate.

  • Knowledge of graduate admission or recruiting sales cycle, processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge of financial aid policies and cycles.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team to provide a positive impact.

  • Ability to work within processes and to assess the unique needs of each prospective student and applicant and take customized action accordingly.

  • Detail oriented.
