Position Purpose
To conduct research on the development of high-temperature effective piezoelectric composites. The position is for one year with potential extension beyond that, subject to funding available.
Description
One postdoc position is available now in Professor Yan Li’s research group at Dartmouth College. The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary environment with NASA JPL, DOE labs and industries to develop high-temperature effective piezoelectric composites.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
PhD plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
· PhD with background in computational materials science, experimental mechanics, or a related field.
· Proficiency in performing structural FEA and thermal-mechanical analysis using Abaqus.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
· Experience in laboratory research.
Preferred Qualifications
· Research experience in architected piezoelectric composites and polymer derived ceramics.
· Laser scribing.
· Digital Image Correlation analysis.
· In-situ SEM testing.
