Position Summary:
The Instructional Multimedia Specialist/Videographer works closely with faculty across the district to create interactive and engaging media for inclusion in course content delivery. This includes the creation of storyboards, timelines, multimedia artifacts for online and web-enhanced instruction, audio files, and other artifacts required to produce professional quality multimedia for use in academic instruction and training. The Instructional Multimedia Specialist/Videographer will not only be highly skilled in visual design and in audio/video technologies, but also must possess project management and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position must possess the ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and assist in identifying the most appropriate visual elements for instructional material. The position manages all aspects of the instructional media projects from conception to completion, as well as the oversight and management of Online Education’s Innovation Hub.
Primary Duties Performed:
Designs, creates, and produces learning materials in a variety of visual formats including print, graphics, audio, video, animation, and multimedia to support instructional content development and teaching and learning
Produces charts, graphs, and other objects to enhance video productions.
Stays current on, provides training for, and ensures compliance with accessibility standards.
Creates processes and gathers and reports on data in regard to multimedia use in distance classrooms and its effectiveness
Creates project timelines/processes and manages all aspects of the media projects from conception to completion.
Creates high-quality multimedia artifacts aligned with training and educational needs to enhance engagement and understanding for learners
Collaborates with Online Education staff to produce training videos, orientations, and other artifacts to assist in the advancement of department initiatives
Works with COR development teams and individual faculty to conceptualize and create instructional artifacts for course content
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in film, broadcast journalism or related field and at least two years’ professional experience in video and/or multimedia production or Professional Certifications in film making and at least four year’s professional experience in video and/or multimedia production.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in film, broadcast journalism or related field
Experience in lesson/video creation in a Higher Education environment
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience and education
