The School of Health Profession is seeking qualfieid applicatns for a Clinic Director - Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

The mission of the School of Health Profession (SHP) “is to educate and inspire developing professionals who enhance the health of individuals and communities”. The SHP supports individuals seeking degrees in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech pathology, physician assistants, athletic training, public health, and performing arts medicine.

The Clinic Director will manage day to day operations of new Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders’ Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic. MS-SLP program is seeking candidacy status of accreditation with Council on Academic Accreditation for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

Clinic Director duties include:
  • Recruitment and development of clinical practicum sites for students
  • Recruitment of clients for the division’s clinics
  • Administration of the clinical program including maintenance of records for students, Clients and clinical supervisors
  • Assist with administrative duties/activities needed to meet CAA standards for accreditation
  • clinical teaching and clinical supervision of students
  • Coordination with the Office of Interprofessional Education for interprofessional practice opportunities
  • Participation in scholarship
  • Participation division, school, and/or university service
  • Other faculty duties as assigned or needed by division director and/or Dea
  • Opportunities are provided for service to the communication disorders profession and clinical practice.
Required Skills

Qualifications:
  • Master Degree in Speech Pathology accepted (doctorate degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings
  • Current ASHA Certification and eligibility for licensure by Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Minimum of 3 years of Clinical Supervision experience (interns or Clinical Fellows)
  • Meet ASHA requirements for Clinical Supervision
  • Familiarity with CAA and Council for Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CFCC) standards of practice
  • Expertise or desire to educate students about broader health topics including interprofessional education, global health issues and evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, administrative, public relations, and marketing skills
  • Demonstrate professional leadership
  • University teaching experience a plus
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Experience with singing voice or voice disorders a plus
