Overview:



The School of Business at Quinnipiac University invites applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching and contributing to a collaborative team to apply for a visiting professor of Blockchain Technology. In this role, you will teach undergraduate and/or masters courses (in-person and online) and be an active member of the university community by engaging in university service, advising, and research. Please note: This is an in-person position located on our Mt. Carmel campus, Hamden, CT.

This position is scheduled to begin January 2023.

The Quinnipiac University School of Business offers twelve undergraduate majors, five graduate degree programs, a graduate certificate in health care compliance, a five-year BS/MBA program and an innovative 3+1 accelerated BS/MBA program. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach experiential courses both on ground and online in the Blockchain area, including Foundations of Blockchain; in addition, may be asked to teach in the following areas: analytics
  • Teaching is the primary duty of visiting faculty (3 courses will be taught)
  • Help identify initial Blockchain learning objectives for our program
  • Other duties include, advise and mentor students; prepare and deliver active learning course content and engaging class activities; compile, administer, and grade assignments/examinations
  • Help to build external partnerships for guest speakers, internships, job placement, and curricular development (e.g., sources of case studies).


Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field is required. A doctorate in one of these fields is preferred. Candidates who are ABD with potential for high-quality teaching are encouraged to apply.


Qualifications:

  • Scholarly activity to meet Quinnipiac School of Business-AACSB Scholarly Academic or Scholarly Practitioner status criteria or conferral of doctorate from an AACSB accredited university within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to effectively teach in the areas of Blockchain Technology at the undergraduate and/or master’s level.
  • Previous teaching and professional experience in the information technology field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence of teaching effectiveness, preferably in classroom environments.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
