Job Summary:

The Center for Law, Society & Justice is adding a Program Administrator and Academic Advisor to our team. This position is great for individuals interested in working with passionate and engaged students as well as the larger community.

This position serves as the Program Administrator and Academic Advisor for the Criminal Justice Certificate Program. Duties include providing academic advising for criminal justice certificate students, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Duties also include developing and maintaining agency relationships for our internship program, administering and supporting our pre-internship placement process for students, and creating events and student-centered programs. The person in this role will work as a team with our Criminal Justice Field Observation instructors and Legal Studies Program Administrator and Academic Advisor.

Responsibilities:

Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • 20% Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
  • 20% Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
  • 20% Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • 20% May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
  • 20% Provide academic advising for Criminal Justice certificate students

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred
Master's Degree in related field or JD.

Qualifications:

Required:
--Minimum 2 years experience working in or with state, local, or national criminal justice, legal or social service organizations.
--Minimum 1 year experience in advising or other student-focused service at the collegiate level.
--Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and social justice.
--Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
