Position Details
The Office of Treasury and Student Account Services is part of the Controller’s Office and is responsible for the processing of over $200 million of annual revenue and a short-term investment portfolio that fluctuates around an average of $100 million throughout the year.

Under the supervision of the Director of Treasury and Student Account Services, the Treasury Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the university’s short-term cash management including transaction review and posting, cash forecasting, management of short-term investment portfolio, and fostering banking and vendor relationships.

Additionally, this position is responsible for supporting the university’s eCommerce and merchant services platforms. It is expected that this position will work cross functionally and continue to evaluate university challenges with potential industry solutions.

Responsibilities Include:
All aspects of cash management including:

  • Review of daily activity, processing wire transfers, posting of transactions, and liquidity management.

  • Communicate with university stakeholders to identify and record cash receipts in a timely manner.

  • Review and resolution of ACH exceptions, including communication with various departments.

  • Develop and maintain a short-term cash forecast and trend analysis tool utilized to evaluate short-term investment strategies and inform decision-making.

  • Collaborate with banking partners on short-term investment opportunities while continuously evaluating banking fees and products.

  • Execute short-term strategies including opening and closing bank accounts, updating lists of authorized signers and online banking administrators.

  • Monthly review and reporting on cash and short-term investment account balances.

  • Process University cash deposits and work with departments on cash receipt tools and controls to include, but not limited to, credit card merchant processing, University eCommerce, and remote deposit.

  • Work with University banking partners to evaluate and implement new technologies including digital payment methods.

  • Support general accounting functions with bank reconciliation, transaction research, and other inquiries.

  • Train various departments in cash management policies and technology.

  • Perform cashier duties for all university departmental deposits, including armored car deposit preparation and pick-up, returned check processing, and fiscal year end close.

  • Special projects as required and other duties as assigned.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule with on-campus and remote work. A remote work schedule will only be considered for residents of MA, VT, NH, ME, CT, RI, or NY.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 1 year experience in finance management, accounting, treasury services or related discipline (relevant student experience will be considered) or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.

Knowledge of accounting functions or treasury services including reviewing financial transactions, cash flow, revenue management, and payment application.

Excel skills, including complex formulas, and pivot tables in order to organize and analyze data.

Detail oriented with strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with, synthesize, and summarize complex data.

Demonstrated organizational skills, as well as an ability to interact and communicate effectively with students, faculty, university personnel, and visitors using diplomacy, mature judgment, and discretion.

Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strict adherence in maintaining confidentiality.

Self-starting, flexible and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, as well as internal and external customer.

Demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse environment and collaborating with individuals of different backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum five years of accounting experience

Familiarity and experience with banking forecasting tools.
