Key Essential Duties include the following:
  • Develop strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors who support Pratt's programs;
  • Work closely with colleagues across Institutional Advancement including other front line fundraisers, with the purpose of optimizing Pratt's short-term and long-term fundraising success;
  • Partner with other departments within the Division of Institutional Advancement including Planned Giving and Donor Relations, Corporate & Foundation Relations, Alumni Engagement, Operations, and other Institutional partners.


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Five to seven years’ successful experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in higher education. Knowledge of Planned Gift and estate planning is a plus.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, complex gift scenarios, and tight deadlines, coordinating with the Director of Planned Giving where appropriate for blended gifts.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • The intelligence, maturity, and sound judgment necessary for interfacing with major donor prospects.
  • Knowledge of moves management strategies and techniques.
  • Deadline-driven with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with databases, preferably Raiser's Edge.
  • Proficiency in Google platforms and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must have the ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Must have the ability to travel as needed.
  • Appreciation for the important role that higher education and an art and design education plays in the world.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse staff, as well as demonstrate intercultural competence; and an understanding of the important role of diversity, equity, and inclusion to institutional advancement.
