Salary & Benefits:                     Salary is $37,670.92.  Compensation package is comprised of many college paid benefits including health and life insurance, retirement, leave time, and tuition waivers for Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.

 

Classification:                            Interim, Full-time, Technical/Professional, Pay Grade PT2, Non-exempt.

SF Achieve Specialists promote a college-going culture in Alachua and Bradford Counties through interventions in schools and the community. The Interim SF Achieve Specialist builds relationship with Alachua and Bradford County students and their families through small groups and individual coaching, focused on the goals of the SF Achieve program. This is a temporary position that will be appointed through June 30th, 2023.   

 

 

 

Responsibilities and duties include:

 

 

  • Collaborate with the Recruitment and SF Achieve team to plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of the SF Achieve program at assigned high schools Meet regularly with future SF Achieve Scholars and their families one-on-one to assist them in adjusting their mindset and that of the greater community with regards to the value of attending college Develop and implement engagement programs in high schools and in the community, ranging from small group discussions to large-scale awareness events Engage with future SF Achieve Scholars through the Canvas-based SF Achieve courses and track their completion of key modules. Engage with future SF Achieve Scholars via social media and other digital means Implement Signing Says at assigned schools to celebrate SF Achieve Scholars and have them sign the SF Achieve Commitment as the final step before being awarded the SF Achieve Scholarship Mentor and advise future Achieve Scholars on the college application process through their initial enrollment Update and maintain a digital database of future SF Achieve Scholars’ contact information and their status in the SF Achieve program through initial registration Participate in a warm hand-off to connect SF Achieve Scholars with their academic success coach after initial registration Assist in the implementation of large on-campus SF recruitment events including New Student Convocation, College Night, and Open House Attend monthly meetings with the SF Achieve Implementation Team, which includes liaisons from each high school (1-2 hours per month) Actively participate in college-related committees and provides service to the College as required
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Reports to: Director, Achievement & SF Achieve

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Required:  Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of related work experience.  

 

 

 

Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid Florida Driver License and be authorized to drive for the college (Driving Requirements). A criminal background check will be conducted.

 

 

 

Preferred:  Experience working in higher education.

Communication – able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job. Systems & Software - proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs. Adaptability to Change – able to be flexible and supportive, able to positively and proactively assimilate change in rapid growth environment. Ethics – able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job-related actions.
