Germantown Academy (GA) invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of Institutional Advancement. GA seeks an engaging and experienced leader, manager, and fundraiser with significant campaign experience, a deep commitment to education and to GA’s student-centered mission.

America’s oldest nonsectarian day school, GA was founded in 1759. GA is a PreK-12th Grade, coed, college preparatory school serving more than 1,220 students on 126 acres in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, a close suburb of Philadelphia. GA is committed to creating a learning environment that is as diverse as the broader, global world.

Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Institutional Advancement is a strategic, collaborative leader who is responsible for the management of a 12-person staff, creating and implementing all stewardship and fundraising programs undertaken by the school, and directing the Alumni, Parent Relations, Communications, and Marketing departments.

The next Director of Institutional Advancement will demonstrate a proven track record in high-level fundraising with a focus on individual giving and major gifts; excellent understanding of principles and techniques of development, including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, endowment, and planned giving; experience in the design and implementation of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies; and a minimum of five years of experience directing institutional development programs within a mission-driven context.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with experience. In addition, 100% tuition remission is available for a total of two children who qualify for admission and for whom space is available. The appointment will commence on or before December 1, 2022.
