Job Description:

The Business Services Officer is a staff member in the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), supporting DSA Auxiliary Units which includes the Student Recreation Center, Residence Life, and the Student Union. Applies industry and professional standards, university policy and procedure, federal and state laws and other regulations.
The position provides day-to-day financial & accounting support to the auxiliary units and occasionally to other units within the Division of Student Affairs as needed. The Business Service Officer provides administrative &/or clerical support.

Business Operations
- Tracks individual assigned budget accounts and Pcard expense reports; completes reconciliation procedures,
- Assist in gathering historical data for the annual budget process,
- Submit and monitors receipts, disbursements, purchase orders, and credit card charges,
- Responsible for maintaining full knowledge and skill of required university computer and software programming (Banner, Web Report Library, etc.) as needed,
- May analyze open encumbrances that are no longer valid & recommend appropriate modifications to ensure smooth processing of financial transactions.

Office Administration
- Assist with staffing the Guest Service/Front Desk as needed,
- General Clerical Support: Typing letters, requisitions, filing, researching files to assemble reports, taking required staff meeting minutes, preparing and sending out bi-weekly departmental meeting agendas, literate with word processing, spreadsheet, monitoring office machines for training,
- Attend all required departmental & division wide staff meetings,
- Serve on committees as assigned .

Student Employment Services
- Submits Graduate Assistant employment requests,
- Submit EPAF’s and complete new hire/returning student paperwork for student employees,
- Assists in reviewing and approving student payroll,
- Assist in apply Housing and Meal Plan waivers through Banner as assigned,
- Serve on Committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Business Management or equivalent Degree.
  • Eighteen (18) months experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or business management
  • This position requires successful completion of the university assessment testing
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent financial management skills
  • Must be able to work in a very diverse college environment
