Job Description:

The Department of Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a full-time, Research Assistant Professor, to join a team of productive investigators in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine. The Division's research faculty consists of 10+ principal investigators whose research interests include: transcriptional control of innate lymphoid cells, biology of alpha-1 anti-trypsin, iron regulation as anti-microbial host defense, mechanisms of fibrogenesis in interstitial lung disease, role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in pulmonary hypertension, development of cyclic dinucleotides as novel vaccine adjuvants, and the role of innate lymphocytes in transplant rejection. The academic environment of the University benefits from a strong and collaborative faculty, state of the art research space, numerous research core facilities including exceptional flow cytometry and advanced microscopy, as well as extensive opportunities for the development of translational research programs.

Candidates are expected to contribute to the Alpha1 laboratory’s energetic and well‐funded research program and participate in the teaching of graduate and medical students. Documented evidence of productivity, based on publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals is a requisite, and successful competition for externally funding is anticipated in subsequent years. Candidate will work closely with the Alpha-1 lab on protein trafficking experiments. Candidate will work on projects related to Immuno-precipitation of radio labeled proteins, gene editing and UPR and alpha-1-antitrypsin Deficiency.

Salary is negotiable, commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD degree and appropriate field of study along with prior Alpha-1 research experience.
