Required Qualifications
The candidate must have a GED certificate, HS diploma or the equivalent, with excellent interpersonal skills and above average clerical and computer skills. Must have some office or office related experience. The candidate must be well organized, dependable, punctual, detail-oriented and have good judgment. The candidate must have the ability to use Microsoft Office. Must be flexible in work availability including evening work. The duties and responsibilities may change as the need of the college rises.
Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance and truth.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience. English-Spanish bilingual, and experience in an academic setting.
Job Summary
The Service Aide in the Adult Education, Community Programming & Outreach Department will assist with the day-to-day operation of the office by maintaining student files, answering student’s questions, and assisting staff as needed. The duties will include general receptionist/office work, filing, answering phone calls, assisting students, faculty & staff.
Specific Job Duties
•Provide customer service to all student and assist them
•Answer the telephone and take messages in the main office when needed
•Assist depart staff as needed
•Sort, maintain, and file student records
•Perform word processing functions
•Perform data entry
•Mailing and follow-up calls
•Prepare daily off-site materials for site supervisors
•Assist with test sign-up, assessment, registration & orientation
•Perform other duties as assigned
