BASIC FUNCTION:

Among its many responsibilities, the Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs produces video content that communicates the value of Salve Regina University to various constituent groups. Under the supervision of the Video Producer/Editor, the Videographer supports the University's communications and marketing initiatives across all media platforms and provides the creative talent and strategic expertise needed to advance the brand and reputation of Salve Regina locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The Videographer has experience with all aspects of video production, from concept to completion, including storyboarding, scripting, directing, interviewing, videography and post-production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Produce unique, original content highlighting student, faculty and alumni achievements for both undergraduate and graduate programs, campus events and successful learning/leadership outcomes in alignment with marketing goals.
  • Work with the Director of Integrated Content and Production and the Video Producer/Editor to identify key areas for content creation and curation.
  • Film specific events and programs both on and off campus to create narrative videos that reflect the mission, values, goals and objectives of Salve Regina.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to ensure that messaging, positioning and brand promise is consistent throughout all assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate all technical and logistical aspects of video production, from location scouting and setup to coordinating interviews and other shoots with interview subjects.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a productive, organized and professional video operation for the University's YouTube channel.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Strategist to develop engaging content to grow Salve Regina's social media presence, including Instagram and TikTok.
  • Attend relevant meetings and keep current on best practices and trends through professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain and update creative and technical skills to build knowledge of trends, best practices and regulations in the field.
  • Develop and promote best practices for video production across campus and advise content creators on how that work is publicly displayed.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other video producers working on behalf of Salve Regina for creative use of shared assets.
  • Assist in maintaining an appropriate structure for the flow of content internally and externally via websites and social media platforms.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Respond quickly to produce content in emergency situations, troubleshoot in ever-changing conditions and resolve technical difficulties as they arise.
  • Participate in a cross-functional environment for planning and prioritizing production work and other projects tied to strategic communications.
  • Perform other multimedia content creation as needed, including photography and website design.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Vice President/Chief Communications Officer or the President of Salve Regina.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
  • Computer proficiency on both Macintosh and PC platforms.
  • Proficiency in film and sound editing, lighting, cinematography and interviewing.
  • Proficiency with Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras (video and still) and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity and ability to purchase and know rights and permissions surrounding outside music and video usage.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • FAA drone certification a plus.

Requirements:
  • At least two years of professional experience in the field. Bachelor's degree in communications, film and television, or a related discipline preferred. Previous experience in education or nonprofits a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a proven background in video production and multimedia storytelling, with a focus on composition and design. Knowledge of corporate identity and branding a plus.
  • Experience with video equipment and tools supporting video production, including Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras, camera stabilizers, lighting kits, and lavalier and shotgun microphones is necessary. Drone experience a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and other A/V editing software.
  • Knowledge of copyright, image permissions and fair use protocols for video resources, along with knowledge of graphics and animation.
  • Knowledge of software applications and photo editing tools required. Knowledge of industry-specific tools such as Image Ready and Photoshop, and proficiency in HTML strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects independently are necessary. Ability to meet tight deadlines and willingness to respond to communication needs on a timely or emergency basis is essential. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills; knowledge of AP style a plus. Ability to work with and supervise students.
  • Ability to organize and keep track of large amounts of media.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting. Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
  • Must be able to provide demo reel or link to portfolio work.
