Job Description Summary:
The University of La Verne invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Practice for our Nursing program. This position will be assigned to our RN to BSN program. The curriculum is designed to be delivered online, remote work arrangement possible.

The guiding vision of the College of Health and Community Well-Being is to contribute significantly to the intellectual, social, and economic vitality of La Verne and surrounding region(s). To achieve this goal, the College of Health and Community Well-Being will model the core values of the University in addressing health inequities and social determinants of health and community well-being. The first new program for the College will be an RN to BSN beginning in Fall 2022. The University of La Verne has an opportunity to be a leader in inclusive and equitable approaches to preparing future healthcare and community well-being leaders and at the forefront of a holistic approach to health systems. La Verne's nursing program will continue to expand with a BSN (Fall 2023) and MSN (2024) in development.
Description

Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Nursing Programs, this position is responsible for providing didactic and clinical education to students in the RN to BSN program.
  • Facilitate delivery of curriculum utilizing online, asynchronous and synchronous, pedagogies to support student learning and engagement.
  • Support students during clinical rotations.
  • Mentor and guide students during capstone project
  • Participate in program assessment and accreditation as assigned by the Associate Dean.

Specific Duties:
Responsibilities include: teaching courses in the RN to BSN program in area of expertise; scholarly and clinical engagement; academic advisement of students within the program; mentoring of student research and senior thesis projects; and service to the program and university.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BSN, MSN preferred.
  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong commitment to equity, cultural humility and an ability to work well in diverse context.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse, in California preferred.
  • Experience in RN education program (pre- or post-licensure)
  • Experience with online, asynchronous delivery preferred
