SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the position of part-time faculty to teach Introduction to Philosophy online (asynchronous) this fall 2022.

The successful candidate must be willing and able to commit to delivering well-prepared lessons; holding weekly on-site office hours; engaging in regular and timely communication with students and staff via college email; developing and following clear and transparent grading practices; adhering to college and department policies; and submitting requested grades, records, and academic paperwork by posted deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in subject or related field, PhD preferred
  • Teaching experience, within a community college is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as necessary for working with diverse groups of people with varying backgrounds and learning styles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to and effectively learn new technologies (learning management systems, online tools, simulated lab environments, etc.)
