Overview

Princeton University's Office of Information Technology is seeking a Developer to work as a member of its Package Adoption and Configuration (PAC) team. The PAC team is responsible for supporting the assessment, implementation, integration and maintenance of business applications and platforms in use by University departments and offices. Through their work, the team assists departments and the University in leveraging the functionality provided by these systems in the most efficient and secure manner.

The Developer works on projects supporting the Office of the Dean for Research. As part of the team, the Developer will provide technical expertise on the selected SaaS solutions. This person will be the subject matter expert with the solutions maintaining strong relationships with vendor contacts, understanding the technical infrastructure of any integrations and platform administration. The Developer will work collaboratively with campus partners throughout testing, documentation and towards any required integrations with other campus systems.



Responsibilities

  • Work closely with representatives from the Office for the Dean of Research, Advancement and other business offices as needed, to ensure the platforms have been set up and configured to optimally meet business needs.
  • Thoroughly understand technical infrastructure for integrations, platform configurations and settings.
  • Develop and support system integrations as necessary.
  • Implement Applications as a Service.
  • Support and coordinate technical and functional activities related to system upgrades.
  • Manage the Application Service in ServiceNow and partner with the SOC to offer Tier 2 service.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the functionality, security and integration of the SaaS platforms.
  • Partner with the business offices on functional specifications related to the platforms they use.
  • Author and work with technical documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with the vendor, OIT and partners in business offices such as the Office for the Dean of Research and Advancement.
  • Stay abreast of the SaaS product roadmaps, upgrades and tech bulletins.
  • Advocate on behalf of the University and internal customers for desired functionality, accessibility and security standards and help influence product development.



Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience working as an administrator for a SaaS platform.
  • Strong experience documenting technical requirements.
  • In depth knowledge of SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT best practices, change management methodologies and data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vendors to bring projects to production.
  • Experience working with system integrations.
  • Experience planning and performing test cycles for projects.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to multi-task working with multiple complex projects at one time.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Research and Research Compliance process.
  • Experience with the Huron Grants System.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure/AWS cloud migration efforts.
