Physician - ED Radiologist (M60553)

Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department of Radiology is to create a world-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment, providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with a vision to create a department that is recognized as top tier nationally and internationally.

Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia is currently seeking applicants for one full-time faculty position in the Section of Emergency Radiology.

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching - Provide training to medical students, residents and fellows, who rotate through the Department of Radiology.

Research - Continue to promote professional relationships with Vascular Surgery and the Department of Transplant Surgery to foster interdisciplinary research.

Service - Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities. This shall include college, school, and departmental committee work, professional growth and other such assignments.

Clinical - Provide high quality, sub-specialized imaging interpretations and clinical care as well as perform high quality, state of the art image-guided procedures in support of the referring physicians and patients of VCUHS.

Required Qualifications:

• ABR certification or documentation of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination;
• Emergency Radiology fellowship or experience in Emergency Radiology in a trauma center, and an interest in teaching is required. (In lieu of an Emergency Radiology fellowship, a completed fellowship in Neuroradiology, MSK, or Abdominal Imaging would also be acceptable.);
• Candidates must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU;
• Candidates must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure;
• and be eligible for permanent employment in the USA.
