The Public Health program aligns with the vision and mission of the institution, emphasizing global perspectives, diversity, and social justice. The program’s vision is a world where under-served communities, locally and abroad have achieved health equity. St. Catherine’s public health bachelor degree programs were the first undergraduate programs in Minnesota to receive accreditation from The Council on Education for Public Health. The undergraduate program offers four tracks for Public Health students: Health Sciences, Public Policy, Health Promotion, and Education and Community Health Worker. ThePracticum Coordinatormanages practicum preparation, practicum courses and student experiences. Responsibilities:

  • Identify, organize and coordinate the development and maintenance of practicum experiences for undergraduate public health students and community health worker students that are respectful and collaborative.
  • Teach the equivalent of six undergraduate courses during the academic year
  • Teach core department courses in traditional classroom, online and hybrid environments.
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator, an advisor, and a mentor
  • Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance
  • Establish a searchable data base and tracking system for practicums
  • Support and participate in the public health meetings and committees and other related activities including coordinating withMPHprogram coordinator on dissemination of activities in program.
  • Maintain presence at the MN Community Health Worker Alliance
  • Build sustainable relationships with community stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field
  • Two (2) years of experience working in the public health or related field that includes the bullets below.
    • Experience managing data with an exceptional degree of accuracy.
    • Experience using the Google and Microsoft suites of products
    • Familiarity with various social media platforms.
    • Experience communicating respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, in a manner that affirms the worth and preserves the dignity of individuals, families, and communities.
    • Experience collaborating and working with people who have a variety of cultural experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using academic software like D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.
  • Experience working in an academic setting
  • Experience working with contracts, partnerships and compliance
  • Fluency in languages other than English
