Job Summary/Basic Function

As an adjunct faculty member in the Ph.D. in Health Sciences or Doctor of Health Sciences program, you will be responsible for teaching doctoral-level students in an online environment. Teaching responsibilities will include: preparing and disseminating weekly announcements, communicating with students via e-mails, preparing course videos, moderating discussion board forums, and grading assignments. The adjunct will be expected to respond to e-mails within 24-36 hours and will grade student’s assignments, providing substantive feedback, within 6 days of the assignment submission. The adjunct will also carry out administrative responsibilities as directed by their Instructional Mentor, Faculty Support Coordinator, Online Chair, and/or Online Dean. These administrative tasks include roster verification, course preparation, reporting items, and timely submission of final grades, etc.
Adjunct Faculty Teaching Responsibilities include:
- Teach material from the approved curriculum in accordance with the assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
- Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
- Provide substantive and timely feedback to students.
- Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining contact with students and offer assistance to absent students.
- Advice students in matters related to academics and attendance.
- Motivate students to participate actively in all aspects of the educational process.
- Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
Complete required training set by the university and/or school
- Other duties as assigned.
As a Ph.D. professor will also be opportunities to serve as a dissertation chair or dissertation committee member.
As a DHSc professor, there will be opportunities to serve as a dissertation chair, dissertation committee member, or Practicum instructor.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Health Science, Doctor of Health Science (DHSc), or a Ph.D./EdD/DO/MD with a Master’s degree in Health Science or a health-related field. Candidates must be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience teaching and/or mentoring students in an online environment.
-Experience in the discipline.
-Research experience
