Associate Vice President, Equal Opportunity and Title IX Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Mission Integration, the Associate Vice President, EO & TIXC will serve as the Chief Civil Rights Officer, Director of the Office of Title IX and Equal Opportunity (OTIXEO) Compliance Initiatives, and Title IX Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating and directing functions for WesternU’s compliance efforts with obligations under various civil rights legal frameworks, Pay Equity requirements, and Equal Opportunity and Nondiscrimination legal frameworks, such as, Title VI & Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and Age Discrimination Act of 1975. This responsibility includes enforcement of these requirements for students, employees, and third parties. As Director of OTIXEO Compliance Initiatives, oversees complaint resolution and educational programs to prevent and eliminate protected class discrimination, harassment, and retaliation (DHR), prevent its recurrence and remedy its effects. This oversight includes establishing goals, policies, and best practices for OTIXEO Compliance Initiatives. Represents the Office of Mission Integration and supports the achievement of the Office’s functions and goals.
