Job Description:
Acts in a lead capacity and/or as an expert on the successful selection, design, installation and maintenance of automated systems including LAN/WAN data communications networks, network management systems, enterprise servers, network operating systems, and/or database management systems.

Remains current on developments in hardware and software systems and equipment related to District system and needs in order to advise personnel and recommend systems changes, updates, and/or new technology as appropriate.

Attends planning meetings and discussions with more senior technical personnel, and end users and communicates with end users concerning their needs and requirements.

Researches and tests new technologies and applications that show a potential benefit and monitors their performance if and when they are implemented.

Develops and sets overall standards for hardware, software, enterprise server platforms, applications systems and networks.

Develops writes and modifies technical support documentation for network, system-level software and engineering changes.

Trains IT staff and end users on new or existing technology being implemented as needed.

Acts as project manager establishing project milestones and timelines and providing work direction and assignments to lower level technical staff.

Serves as District representative at user group conferences as required.

Learns and applies emerging technologies and as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner.

Participate in District/College efforts to increase the diversity of faculty and staff and to address student achievement gaps; active assistance in the creation of a welcoming and inclusive work and educational environment; attend and participate in diversity, equity and inclusion trainings and events.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Primary Purpose:
This position is responsible for acting in a lead capacity and/or as an expert on the successful selection, design, installation and maintenance of automated systems including LAN/WAN data communications networks, network management systems, enterprise servers, network operating systems, and/or database management systems. Responsibilities include advising management on technology solutions, defining project steps and timelines, coordinating, directing, and providing work direction to lower level technical staff and setting technical standards and providing technical expertise on complex technical problems.

Working Relationships:
The Systems Analyst, Applications, maintains frequent contact with various District departments and personnel, information technology vendors, and outside contractors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of systems design and analysis

Knowledge of computer hardware and software, and related peripherals
Knowledge of applicable programming languages
Ability to plan, lead, coordinate and conduct major projects or phases of projects
Knowledge of the principles and practices of providing technical work direction and guidance
Knowledge of interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
Ability to write and update technical documentation
Ability to assign work and provide technical work directions to others
Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in computer science or a related field

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in programming, operating systems, and data communications networks, including leadership responsibility

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience building and maintaining Microsoft infrastructure in a hybrid environment inclusive of Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, Identity Management, and automation via common tools such as Powershell or group policy.

Experience providing end-user support and training for Microsoft applications ecosystems including Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Training and/or certification in Microsoft Office 365.

Experience providing support, system administration, and training for institutional intranets.

Experience acting as technical lead, or escalation point for a helpdesk.

Demonstrated experience with technology project management following agile practices, and/or ITIL frameworks.

Demonstrated experience maintaining security in a hybrid, enterprise environment. Current certifications in Cybersecurity (CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISA, GSEC, etc.).

Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or community leaders in programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to assist historically underrepresented students achieve their educational goals.

Prior experience in approaching work and interactions with colleagues and/or students in an equity minded manner. Ability to provide an inclusive and welcoming work/educational environment.

Working Conditions:
College or District IT office environment; subject to sitting for long periods at a time (up to 2-3 hours). Repetitive use of upper extremities including hand coordination activities.

Salary Range: $8,600 - $10,452 Per Month

This is a classified position subject to a one-year probationary period. Initial salary placement will be determined by the Office of Human Resources in accordance with Board Policy and is not negotiable. Minimum Qualifications - Experience: One year of experience is equivalent to 12 months of experience at a maximum of 40 hours per week (full time).
