Job Summary

Develop, organize, and conduct the internal prospecting activities to identify potential major gift donors and report on existing donors to support fundraising and administrative requirements for the Office of Institutional Advancement and University-wide initiatives. Work with Prospect Research team to carry out duties and responsibilities.

Essential Functions
  • Manage all aspects of wealth screenings that involve combining complex spreadsheets, including the parents screening and international screenings, by querying Hyperion and Advance and using advanced formulas to combine data. Report data and findings to IA Executive Leadership
  • Provide spreadsheets and other reports with the Presidential Councils Department
  • Lead all aspects of the creation of in-depth analysis reports on the President's Parents Council data and other data as needed. Provide quarterly, five-year reports for the Parents Council
  • Serve as the primary Prospect Research liaison with Advancement Services in regard to IT related special projects. Attend quarterly meetings with Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services, Director of Prospect Management, and the Senior Software Engineer
  • Perform research, conduct financial analysis, and prepare briefs and profiles with tight deadlines on individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations to support all IA staff including the President's Office in the qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects as well as proposal development
  • Work on special projects as assigned by providing research and compiling spreadsheets and other formats to report on research. Work with the Executive Director to implement research projects and serve as a liaison to units with regard to their research projects
  • Participate in the compilation of the weekly and monthly alumni report by reporting on alumni news from news sources and monitor news on Drexel VIPs to keep staff informed
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training co-ops every six months
  • Assist in the development and implementation of systematized research procedures and guidelines
  • Develop a complete understanding of the fundraising process as to ensure quality output. Work with other University offices and external entities to obtain data for research profiles and proposals
  • Utilize capacity/wealth rating information to assess giving ability. Analyze data and propose strategies for prospect development
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience, including prospect research and profile preparation
  • Advanced Excel skills required including pivot tables, macros, complex formulas, and vlook-ups, as well as knowledge of prospect research online databases including iWave and LexisNexis are required
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills.
  • Advanced math skills necessary.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to ensure all department deadlines are met.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using the Advance database preferred.
