  • Chart the strategic course for the Family Business Center (“FBC”) that is consistent with the Jesuit mission of the University and the Quinlan School of Business, with a focus on research, curriculum and program delivery, and member support activities.
  • Develop and deepen relations with, and serve as a resource to, the community of existing FBC members, while recruiting and building relationship with prospective members
  • Work with the university’s Advancement division to lead fundraising/gift solicitation and maintain relations with industry sponsors of the FBC Design, develop topic areas for, and execute with appropriate resources (faculty, instructors, etc.) FBC education and research programs
  • Drive attendance for FBC programs, institutes, and initiatives
  • Teach, as relevant, selected portions of FBC programs and institutes
  • Coach FBC members around their family business issues Develop strategies to market the FBC and its members, e.g., with the Heroes campaign
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the FBC strategic plan for both short term and long-term planning Partner with and ensure the health of the FBC Advisory Council Collaborate with other center directors in Quinlan’s Business Leadership Hub Maintain relationships with and serve as a resource to Quinlan faculty, staff, students, and alumni, the University, and the Media Maintain relationships with, and participate in events by, industry associations (including the Family Business Network) and advisors on family business related topics
  • Oversee the work and professional development of one full-time employee and a team of part-time student workers
  • Prepare budgets for approval by the dean and assure sound financial performance of the FBC Other tasks and projects as assigned
