Job Description

The Sinclair School of Nursing is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide care to primary care to patients. The position exists to serve in a clinical and faculty capacity for the Sinclair School of Nursing. This position works in collaboration with a private practice physician.

Responsibilities include the following:
• Provide excellent primary care to patients.
• Work independently and in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide care in the outpatient setting.
• Communicate with team members about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in conditions.
• Work independently and in collaboration with health care professionals to provide care in the outpatient setting.
• Perform treatments and interventions; conduct teaching and counseling of patients and families; and facilitate clinical research.
• Serve as a clinical preceptor for students.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree by the time of appointment
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program by time of appointment
  • Licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Missouri and must be granted "Document of Recognition" as a certified nurse practitioner from the Missouri State Board of Nursing by time of appointment
Candidate will be evaluated on:
  • Experience in primary care or urgent care
  • May possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
