Position Summary:

The Thines lab is hiring a research technician. Our lab uses molecular genetic approaches to investigate plant responses to environmental stresses. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about plant molecular biology and has strong interest in continued development/training as a research scientist. In this position, the technician will gain additional skills in molecular biology, genetics, plant biology, and project management.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

The technician will assist Dr. Thines with routine laboratory tasks, including but not limited to:
    cloning and generation of genetic resources plant care and basic lab maintenance data entry and analysis conducting experiments after consultation with and training by Dr. Thines


Qualifications:
    Required skills: B.S. or B.A. in Molecular Biology or related discipline, previous lab experience in molecular biology Desired skills: interest in plant biology, experience in working with proteins (ie. Western blotting, co-immunoprecipitations) ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community


Compensation and Benefits: The anticipated pay for this position is $18.00 DOE. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
