Job Description
The Computer Science Department is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Program/Project Support Coordinator in the department. This role will manage externally funded research projects for a computer science faculty member. It will also ensure required deliverable and benchmarks are met, with the primary goals to maximize Missouri S&T funding components, maximize resources, and ensure key milestones are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage funded research projects by providing project management of grant preparation, submission, paper review, and department commitments that require on-time delivery of committed deliverables.
- Work with faculty to form multidisciplinary teams, multiple educational institutions, multiple government institutions, and international teams.
- Mentor students working on projects that may require guidance or technical support. Manage, review and approve timesheets for students participating on projects.
- Generate project reports, publish, and disseminate research findings via website and newsletters.
- Apply best practices in software development, hardware development, entrepreneur practices, project management, and other professional areas
- Ensure Missouri S&T intellectual property is projected.
- Promote Affirmative Action and inclusion with all projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or closely related field is preferred.
