Assistant Professor of Communication

 

The Department of Communication at Salisbury University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Communication beginning fall 2023.

 

 

 

Primary Job Duties: Teach undergraduate courses in our “Community and Professional Communication” and “Public Relations and Strategic Communication” tracks, particularly those related to management and organizational communication. Demonstrate appropriate levels of scholarly activity, service (contributions to university, professional, and community committees, organizations, and groups), student academic advisement, and effective teaching and classroom management strategies that enhance the success of diverse learners.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in Communication or related field. If ABD, the candidate would be hired at the rank of instructor, with the expectation that the candidate completes the doctoral degree by June 15, 2024.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Applicants who have experience teaching and/or have worked in the field of managerial and organizational communication are preferred. Candidates whose work incorporates global perspective and a demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity in higher education and the field of communication are particularly encouraged to apply.
